May 31, 2017  –The Palouse Choral Society announces Stephanie Sant as the new conductor of its Children’s Choir. Sant takes over from founding conductor Claire Murphy, who is moving to Texas with her family.

Sant, a member of both the Palouse Choral Society and the Chamber Choir, holds degrees in music and education from the University of Idaho. An experienced teacher in the Moscow School District, she currently directs the Moscow High School Choir and Jazz Choir, advises the Glee Club, and teaches movement and dance at McDonald Elementary. Sant also participates in local service projects through the music honorary Sigma Alpha Iota.

The Children’s Choir is an auditioned ensemble of singers in grades 4-7 that performs two concerts a year. Under Murphy’s direction, it has become a premiere performance choir for students in our region. Auditions for new members will be held in June and in the fall.  More information on the choir may be found at www.palousechoralsociety.org.
