1/31: Solo/Small Group Check-In Rehearsals & Chamber Rehearsal Plan
Hi Chamber and soloists,
Below you will find the rehearsal plan for Monday night, 1/31.
Soloists and small groups:
On Monday you have the opportunity to do a check-in rehearsal on your pieces before dress rehearsal
week.
If your piece does not have piano, you can do a run-through with me before rehearsal begins (please
sign up for *later* times first!)
If your piece does have piano, you can rehearse with Elena in the first part of rehearsal (please
sign up for *earlier* times first!)

The current plan for dress rehearsal week is below. This is tentative only as we’re waiting for
confirmation from Concordia about availability for Thursday night. Soloists/small groups, let me
know if there is an issue with this. If you are not in Chamber, I’ll give you call times for the
dress rehearsals so that you are not sitting around for long periods of time waiting to sing.
Monday, Feb. 7 – 6:30-8:30pm – Chamber only
Tuesday, Feb. 8 – 7:30-10:00pm – Chamber and solos/small groups Thursday, Feb. 10 – 7:00-10:00pm –
Chamber and solos/small groups Saturday, Feb. 12 – 6:00pm – call time for Chamber in sanctuary
Saturday, Feb. 12 – 7:00pm – call time for solos/small groups in fellowship hall Saturday, Feb. 12
– 7:30 pm concert

Chamber:
We had a great rehearsal last week; thanks so much for your efforts to get the music internalized.
Your work is really paying off, and things are beginning to sound wonderful! I hope you could feel
the difference last week. There are still just a few rhythms in Hungry that need some work, as does
the opening to Needle & Thread. We’ll get more confident with the cacophony and unexpected key
change on Endurance and the dissonance on The Vow as we do them again, and the double choir pieces
are now really taking shape. We just need to put sections of Jenny Kiss’d Me together and essentially
run Fyer Fyer. Great work!
Recording Choir:
Composer Paul Smith is comfortable putting our recording on the back burner now until after omicron
has waned in our communities. I think we just need one more rehearsal before we record — more info
to come soon, but I think we may try to rehearse on 2/14 and record on 2/21 if that works. Let’s
plan on not rehearsing this for the last two weeks of this concert cycle to keep your voices and
bodies fresh.
